Simulations of nanocrystals under pressure: combining electronic enthalpy and linear-scaling density-functional theory.
We present an implementation in a linear-scaling density-functional theory code of an electronic enthalpy method, which has been found to be natural and efficient for the ab initio calculation of finite systems under hydrostatic pressure. Based on a definition of the system volume as that enclosed within an electronic density isosurface [M. Cococcioni, F. Mauri, G. Ceder, and N. Marzari, Phys. ...
متن کاملFunctional Requirements Under Security PresSuRE
Recently, there has been an increase of reported security incidents hitting large software systems. Such incidents can originate from different attackers exploiting vulnerabilities of different parts of a system. Hence, there is a need for enhancing security considerations in software development. It is crucial for requirements engineers to identify security threats early on, and to refine the ...

Parameter-free calculations based on the density-functional theory are used to examine high-pressure phases of solids. For the elemental semiconductors, as represented by Si, the high-pressure phases are examined in some detail, and particular attention is paid to the Si-VI orthorhombic (Cmca) structure which was resolved only very recently. For III-V semiconductors the optimization of the stru...

Structural, electronic and vibrational properties of tetragonal zirconia under pressure: a density functional theory study.
We present the results of a plane wave based density functional study of the structure and properties of tetragonal zirconia in the range of pressures from 0 to 50 GPa. We predict a transition to a fluorite-type cubic structure at 37 GPa which is likely to be of a soft mode origin and is accompanied by a power law decrease of the frequency of the Raman-active A(1g) mode. A detailed study of the...
